PolAds.eu is built for advertisers, agencies and media that need to handle the European rules on political advertising simply and verifiably.
The platform was created by specialists in media, technology, compliance and digital advertising. It is operated by STEP Network and developed with expert advice and European grounding.
STEP Network is jointly owned by JFM and Berlingske Media. That gives PolAds.eu a strong footing in the Danish media industry and a practical understanding of the challenges both advertisers and media face.
Project Director
Lisa leads the day-to-day development and implementation of PolAds.eu. She coordinates the work across business, compliance and technology, and is responsible for progress and priorities in the project and makes sure that PolAds.eu keeps evolving in step with both the regulation and the needs of its users.
Lead Developer
Nathaniel has been involved from the beginning and was a central part of building the first version of PolAds.eu. He holds the overall technical responsibility for the platform architecture, technical integrations and operations. Nathaniel makes sure the solution is stable, scalable and can connect to the production systems and workflows customers already use.
Software Developer
Kristoffer works on turning the regulatory and practical requirements into concrete features in PolAds.eu. Among other things, he builds the platform data models, validations and workflows, so information can be registered and structured consistently. His work ensures that complex rules become simple and reliable steps for the people using the platform.
Software Developer
Tomáš works on the platform technical infrastructure, the registration flow, the public register and automation. He keeps the solution stable and secure, and works on the integrations that make it possible to use PolAds.eu alongside the systems customers already have. He also automates the processes behind the platform, so publishing and reporting run smoothly day to day.
Head of Customers and Implementation
Rasmus is responsible for the relationship with the companies and organisations that use PolAds.eu. He helps new customers get started and translates the new requirements into workflows that can be used day to day. Rasmus also gathers experience and needs from customers, so the platform can be adapted continuously to the way political advertising is handled in practice.
Originator of PolAds.eu, CEO of STEP Network
Richard initiated PolAds.eu when the new European rules on political advertising created an urgent need for a practical solution for advertisers, political actors and media. When Denmark faced several elections shortly after, media such as JFM risked not being able to run political advertising, because there was no verifiable way to meet the new requirements. PolAds.eu allowed candidates and political actors to be heard through responsible and transparent advertising, and gives media the tools to handle the rules.
PolAds.eu is developed in dialogue with external specialists and European industry associations. That helps ensure the platform is grounded not only in technical requirements, but also in the legal, democratic and practical conditions that advertisers and media have to navigate.
News Media Europe represents news media across Europe and contributes insight into what media need and into the practical consequences of the European rules on political advertising. The partnership supports the European grounding of PolAds.eu and helps make the platform usable across different markets and media systems.
Dr. Oliver Gray advises PolAds.eu on compliance, media regulation and the practical application of the rules on political advertising. He has more than 30 years of experience with European advertising and media regulation, and contributes expert sparring on interpretation, processes and responsibility.
PolAds.eu is operated and developed by STEP Network. STEP Network works with digital advertising, ad technology, data and integrations, and connects advertisers and agencies with Danish quality media. STEP Network holds the operational responsibility for the development, technical operation, security and infrastructure behind PolAds.eu. The company is owned equally by JFM and Berlingske Media and therefore has a strong and direct footing in the Danish media industry.
